Digital Storytelling: a must for every class

Initially, creating a digital story seemed like a daunting undertaking. I wasnt' sure whether or not I was going to be able to do it. Selecting the topic or theme took some time, but considerably easy compared to actually implementing the steps and executing the task. I knew that I wanted to use beautiful imagery and I also wanted to tie the topic to something culturally relevant. Understanding the importance that legends play in shaping the values and mores of latin cultures, I decided to use legends as the central theme for my digital story. However, I wanted to confine the legends to the mexican culture. In order to execute this task, I had to overcome huge learning curves. I had to learn to use google apps, understand how the google drive works, create pdf files, import images, use an image, voice, and video capturing program, create my very own YouTube channel, and record music, my voice narrating the story, then upload the created video to YouTube---all in a matter of days. Working around the clock, foregoing sleep, food, and sometimes even family time, I completed my digital story. Please go to Project 3 under the Project tab of my website to see it.
